Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a DRR Project Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening community disaster preparedness systems. Your main responsibilities include:

• Supporting formation and strengthening of Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)

• Planning and conducting DRR training programs for communities and local partners

• Organizing disaster simulation exercises

• Conducting Hazard, Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (HVCA) and developing risk maps

• Supporting communities in developing disaster preparedness and emergency response plans

• Conducting awareness campaigns on disaster risk reduction

• Preparing activity reports, work plans, and documentation

• Developing case studies and lessons learned

• Ensuring accountability, safeguarding, and MEAL compliance

• Coordinating with internal Save the Children teams and external humanitarian partners

• Translating key DRR materials into Dari or Pashto

• Monitoring training quality and ensuring sustainability of community initiatives
